Children from the city of Arad
(Western Romania ) can learn Chinese language lessons
thanks to a partnership between one of the local malls and a NGO.
The Summer School program of the mall takes place every
weekday between 9 and 15 and includes activities like reading tales,
mathematics, arts, karate, games, English lessons and now Chinese.
The private initiative was successful and all the places
were occupied. There is even a waiting list for those interested in
participating to the program.
They are three age groups (5-6, 7-8, 9-10) and the language
lessons will be taught until mid-August by a Chinese teacher.
Since March, the Arad
branch of the Romanian Chinese Friendship House organizes free Chinese language
lessons for students and adults.
The official inauguration of the local office of the NGO was
held last week, in collaboration with the Aurel Vlaicu
State University
On this occasion were announced the local students selected
for scholarships awarded by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of
