Black Friday came this year a
week earlier in Romania .
The biggest online shops and the most important retailers decided to offer
discounts on Friday, 22nd November.
eMAG, the country’s largest
online retailer expanded its offer and sold even cars, alongside its
traditional items from categories like IT, TV, mobile, household electronics,
house and garden products, toys, book and DVDs.
The sales list included
Romanian manufacturer Dacia ’s
family car Logan and SUV Duster, and also models produced by Ford, Mitsubishi,
Hyunday and Mercedes-Benz.
Before noon, 8 of the 14
models were sold out, including the Mercedes-Benz E Class 220 CDI, for EUR
44.999, with an alleged discount of EUR 11.762.
Today’s promotion started
with 160.000 costumers logged in on the site - the company announced.
Until 10 AM, the site sold
products totalling RON 44 million (almost EUR 10 mln).
Romanian media presented in
detail the offers all the week and created a profitable buzz for the retailers.
Black Friday was held for the
third time in Romania and
most of the online retailers handled the huge traffic, which created problems
last year.
In 2012, the biggest players of the market reported sales of
more than EUR 10 million each.
