Members of the Szekler and Csángó subgroups, Hungarian
people from Transylvania, Hungary and from all over the world gathered for the
450th time at Csíksomlyó (Șumuleu Ciuc, a neighborhood of
Miercurea Ciuc, Harghita County, Transylvania, Romania) to celebrate Pentecost.
All kind of pilgrims, from
little children to old people, travel to pray together at the statue of the
Virgin Mary of Csíksomlyó (also known as the Blessed Lady shrouded in the sun)
from the Franciscan Church.
Hundreds of thousands of people attended the pilgrimage in
a beautiful weather to participate to the open air mass at the Three Hill Altar on the „Saddle”, celebrated this year by the
Apostolic Nuncio to Romania, Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía.
